" Each new circumstance requires new architecture "

- Jean Nouvel

Translated from French

" Building Cap Mail wasn't as simple as I expected.

At first glance, the structure is basic: a building at the bottom and a smaller one above. Nevertheless, the structure is really complex, each floor differs from the others especially on the river side. Each balcony has a different shape which makes each floor its uniqueness.

The roof of both buildings - the lower and the upper one - are truly unique in terms of shape, design and size. On the real Cap Mail, details such as the two giant pergolas covering the top of each building are thiner and more detailed than on the Minecraft Cap Mail. To ensure that every detail was as real as possible I had to find new ways of building with Minecraft blocks and items.

The surroundings of the Minecraft Cap Mail are inspired by the original environement of Cap Mail in Rennes with barges, the same river design, and the same road directions; although, I designed evrything by myself in order to make the buidling fit perfectly in Minecraft. Small details like customized trees, paths with elaborated textures, traffic lights, detailed roads and gardens enhance the realistic aspect of Cap Mail."

Cap Mail is an ultra-modern building originally designed by the Ateliers Jean Nouvel, a french architecture institute which gives life to many buildings all around the world.

Cap Mail was built in Rennes, Bretagne, France, along the shores of the Vilaine River which crosses the city from east to west. It can now be seen from almost everywhere in the downtown which makes it one of the most iconic edifices in Rennes.

SkyDesigner tried to recreate it in Minecraft with the most details as possible. However, the in-game structure is slightly bigger than the real one due to Minecraft requirements.
